A WEAKNESS for WHITE!!

I have to agree, there's something about having a "weakness for white!"

When I met my husband John, my close female cousins all asked if I picked the house before the man. Our home is "ALL WHITE".

 "Of course not" I said.

There's something completely calming about the palette WHITE - Easy to add colour to or simply white on white.

White doesn't limit you. It leaves you with a blank canvas.

A canvas that has no limits.A canvas to really PLAY with!

CORNERS OF HOME - TWO

My Corners continue............

I love this painting! She has so much feeling.Sitting a little lonely on our hallway floor at the moment.She was dropped and so her frame has come loose.Another job to do!

This shot is taken in my husbands office.The aboriginal boy was shot by me on a trip to Darwin.

My Grandmother was a brilliant designer and creator of handbags.This one hangs safely next to a wonderful French print I purchased a long time ago from Camberwell Market.

You can never ever have enough books!

I don't believe in electronic books!!

This shot is a corner of my precious glassware collection.Started in my 20's and still going.

This large etching was purchased for $5!!!!  Finished in pencil  - the childlike feel was an instant attraction for me.A little knight sits on his horse. Smaller etching of Japanese child.

This incredible old medicine ball is one of my favourites.My husband John never throws anything out.....but this almost went to the tip.Think of how many hands have passed this ball.

It now sits on top of our book shelf and I never tire of looking at it!

Long stem pink roses are a favourite of mine.

My sister Danielle of Moss Industry Weddings thinks of me all the time.

With trade fair around the corner I'm looking forward to sourcing out some fabulous new pieces.

Today I decided to turn to the most  and obvious things in life.....the little things around my home.The corners that give me inspiration!

 My glass cabinet that hold years of my glasses that collected and are suddenly back in fashion.Funny how trends do a big circle.

I've always believed in buying artwork that grabs your attention instantly.I don't tend to use reds in furnishings but in my art collection red comes through all the time.I have a weakness for David Bromley,nudes,childish images and any art piece that's slightly ugly.It makes it beautiful! I loathe mass produced prints and knock off images of mainstream work.

I have a love hate relatioship with this painting.She's not finished it was started almost 5 years ago.Oneday I'll work up the courage to complete her!

This is one of my mothers paintings.It now sits on my wall.I've loved this since I was a young girl.

Bali Boys!

After a long trip away to Bali with a girlfriend back in 1996 I took this snap of 2 little boys walking the streets.

This sketch sits in our entrance area.Hidden away a little - but really special.

It was drawn in my derwent pencils. I love my derwents.

2012 makes us 6 years old! How time flies!

I am a big believer in keeping things FRESH! Never becoming too complacent with everyday life - but most importantly with my business MOSS GROTTO.I live and breathe my store and honestly couldn't imagine doing anything else.

It gives me the opportunity to play out creative ideas.

To be successful I strongly believe that you have to continually re-invent yourself,your product,your dreams.

Always thinking,always creating and never letting the words,

 "I can't" enter your headspace.

 Simply ask yourself - "WHY NOT and go for it"

And so this brings me to my new venture,my new
 re-invention......keeping it FRESH.
Recently I thought long and hard about opening a sister store to MOSS GROTTO.I wanted another challenge.Solely clothing!
Exciting yes....but in order for me to keep my finger on the pulse and most importantly to keep in touch with my customers, I decided to simply make some small changes to my existing store.

 Introducing a highlight of design labels known as the NEW "MG threads" area.It's what an emporium is all about.

I hope to provide a different element of style which will as always reflect a true sense of who I am.
